VERY good bargain for the grip. I installed the batteries that came with the package and haven't had to charge them yet. I've taken over 350 pictures with my Canon Rebel and the battery meter still indicates a full charge. The grip is a little bulky and takes some 'tweeking' to get it into my camera bag, but it does fit. The little starter kit (mini tripod, etc) that comes as a bonus doesn't have much use for me except the lens cloth. The remote also does not work with my camera, but I doubt I'd use it anyway. The price I paid for everything, the grip, TWO batteries, charger, remote and starter kit was excellent. The grip alone was $125 from Canon. I am glad I found this deal and would recommend it to anyone.

1. Grip is well made and feels very nice. It provides set most frequently used controls to shoot at with 90-degrees rotation, including main dial, Av+/-, * and focus point selections.
2. 2 batteries last forever (still show full charge after more than 1000 shoots)
3. Spare AA holder supports 6 AA batteries just in case - so far I happily use it to store rechargeable spares for my flash.
4. Of course, it makes camera bigger - that is what it supposed to do, but beware that it makes it heavier as well. If weight and size matters, you may want to detach it.
5. Cleaning kit and tripod are kind of "free bonus" - there is not much use in them, especially tripod - I think it is way to small for the camera.
6. Remote is nice and small. It works (but not for zoom, even though there are W/T buttons).

Wow, this is one of the best combination of items I have purhcased for my Canon T1i. The battery grip fits as if were made by Canon. I read that some buyers received batteries that were not as advertised. I didnt have that problem, both batteries were 1800mah. The remote is cool and works, when viewing pictures of the remote it looked like it would zoom in and out... It will but only on specific Point and Shoot systems. If you will be using the remote for a DSLR it will only operate the shutter and it does that great. I have seen other combos on Amazon for this battery grip, however this package comes with the charger (the one I received works both AC and DC), batteries, remote and silly cleaning kit with tripod. If you dont have money to burn, buy this Opteka battery grip, there is no reason to buy the Canon version other than to have the Canon name. Battery life is outstanding with the two batteries. Cant say enough good stuff about it.
